Western NC – Local Fire Station
Town of Mars Hill, NC
Initially, the fire chief installed 10,000 gallon of underground storage to use for periodic fire training activities.
Problem: The only filtration was from a homemade strainer basket which often overflowed into the tank carrying with it leaves and debris. The roof water was not filtered enough to prevent leaves and debris from getting into the tank. Therefore, prior to training activities leaves and debris posed a problem within the tank and had to be netted out by hand each time.
Solution: RainStore-USA was contacted and asked to provide downspout filter options. RainStore-USA provided three downspout filter options with three cost range alternatives. The fire chief selected the filters in the mid- cost range for use. After filtration was implemented the fire training activities no longer required the netting out of the debris.
