Mike Fugate

Mike FugateMike Fugate, P.E. is the founder and principal of SmartWater Solutions LLC. After receiving Bachelor and Master of Civil Engineering degrees from Auburn University, Mike initially gained experience performing storm water analysis and design for large projects in the Atlanta, GA area. In the years after, Mike has worked with several manufacturers in the wastewater and stormwater industries, not only gaining design and application knowledge but also the ability to provide the best solution to any design challenge. Mike started engineering consulting with the design of a repair septic system for a residence in 1998. Since then, he has gained experience with wastewater applications of different types up to over 500,000 gallon per day applications as well as commercial stormwater design. Mike is a registered civil engineer in several states in the Southeastern U.S.

Chris Keiger

Chris KeigerChris Keiger, P.G. is the principal of Keiger Environmental, LLC which he started in 2007 working on projects in Georgia and North Carolina. He is a registered professional geologist in Georgia with reciprocity in several other states. Chris has 30+ years of experience in the Geosciences. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Geology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983. While attending college, Chris worked as an exploration geologist for Texas Gulf Minerals for 4 years.

After graduating, Chris worked as a consulting geologist in the geotechnical and environmental geo-sciences sector for 14 years in Atlanta. Initially, he was a project manager and later became the Director of Geosciences and Remediation for his employer(s). His work involved preliminary site development issues, subsurface site investigations, site characterization, contaminant fate and transport, site remediation and underground storage tank management. From 1997 until 2011, Chris worked as a business development and product manager for Bord na Mona Environmental Products (now ANUA) promoting onsite/decentralized wastewater treatment technology and other water reuse related products throughout the USA.

Now with SmartWater Solutions Group, Chris is focused on his expertise in the Geosciences as well as the fast-emerging Rainwater Harvesting & Use sector (RainStore-USA), and other Water Reuse Initiatives in the US, the Caribbean and worldwide. Chris received training and accreditation from the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) in Austin, Texas in December 2009 and attended the ARCSA advanced training in May 2011 at the South Milledge Greenhouse Complex on the University of Georgia, Athens campus. Chris has been active mostly in Rainwater Use, Wastewater and Stormwater projects throughout the Carolina’s and Georgia in recent years on numerous projects listed under the services section (map) of this website.
